A Pokemon that falls in battle may not fight again. All Pokemon must be named, as is tradition.I decided to go with a somewhat religious theme in the beginning, but it quickly devolved to just naming my Pokemon after Catholic saints. Will I pull through and prove that grinding is for the weak, or will my hubris send my under-leveled Pokemon to their doom and commit me to an eternity of suffering? Check out the Table of Contents below, or keep scrolling to find out!ĭon't mind the flowery language in some of the commandments. As such, I will be limiting myself to the traditional one catch per route, and apart from those catches, beating trainer Pokemon is the only way my Pokemon can gain exp. While one could use a "catch & release" policy to train their Pokemon, there is no risk involved with grinding in this manner, and if there's no risk, it's not much of Nuzlocke run. Thus, grinding in the traditional manner is impossible. Additionally, catching Pokemon can provide a lot of exp to the party, while the exp from fainting trainer Pokemon is reduced in these games. In the Pokemon Let's Go versions, wild Pokemon can only be captured, and cannot be battled. And what better game to get back into it than the one that doesn't actually work with the classic Nuzlock rules? Yaay. It's been a long time (and at least one website?) since I last did a Nuzlocke run, but I have returned in a new evolved form! I happened to buy Scarlet Version, and had a ton of fun playing it, so I figured I should try out a Nuzlocke again. I used to lurk around these parts a long time ago, mostly in the Events section.
